Newsletter Summer Term – Number 2 Friday 23rd May 2008
Dear Parents and Carers,
Another half term holiday has arrived! The last five weeks, including SATs / assessment week, have flown by and I’m sure all the children are looking forward to a week off school!
Sun Protection
Although we haven’t seen much of the sun this week, I would like to remind you to send your child to school with a drink of water and a sun hat. A small tube of suncream is also a good idea.
Shurdington Fete – Sunday 8th June
Reverend Mitchell has asked me to remind everyone about this fun event and to also ask for help in setting everything up on the Sunday morning. If you’re able to spare an hour or two please contact Craig Simmonds on 01242 861233. I’m sure your help will be greatly appreciated.
Lunchtime Supervisors
I’m pleased to welcome Nicola Boucher and Talia Clune on to the lunchtime team.
Cycle Training
Children in Class 4 will be undertaking their cycle training course from Monday 2nd June until Thursday 5th June, using some of the quiet roads next to the school.

After School Club
Thank you to everyone who returned their slip. 21, out of the 76 sent out, were returned and I’m pleased to report that Mrs Styman won the prize draw. The returned questionnaires show that there is some interest in our idea of setting up an after school club but not an overwhelming demand! A decision will be made soon after half term as to what we plan to do.
House Point Cups
Congratulations to Crickley who were in 1st place this term, closely followed by Cleeve in 2nd, Coopers in 3rd and Chosen in 4th place.
Sponsored Bounce – Tuesday 1st July
The School Council are helping me to organise a sponsored bounce to raise money for playtime equipment. More information will be sent out after half term.
